For repotting an Orchid that has outgrown its pot follow our step by step guide.

First choose a pot that is slightly larger than the existing pot. Always use a bark or coir based medium for repotting, never use a peat based compost.

1 - Orchid that needs repotting.

2 - Gently remove the Orchid from the pot.

3 - Tease away the old bark from between the roots.

4 - Rinse the roots in water.

5 - The orchid after rinsing.

6 - Trim off dead and whithered roots with scissors.

7 - Put new clean bark in the bottom of the new pot. Leaving enough room for the Orchid to sit.

8 - Put the Orchid in to the pot.

9 - Add more bark and gently firm down.

10 - Water the bark.

11 - Place the newly potted Orchid in a warm light position, out of direct sunlight.
